"As the narrative unfolds, the synergy of sound and movement becomes the vessel through which I travel. The ensemble of musicians and choir represents my spirit/ ancestors. Each note played becomes a bridge connecting the present to the past. As we move seamlessly through the dreamscape. I (protagonist) am accompanied by a guide, a dancer embodying the essence of my soul. Together, we navigate the intricate tapestry of my inner self, where every step and gesture mirrors the ethereal dance of the subconscious. I, in turn, embody the physical form, the tangible vessel that embarks on this exploration. With 'Inzozi Zanjye' I want to transcend the boundaries of reality, delving into universal themes of self-discovery and the pursuit of liberation. Together, I want to unveil the different layers of the human experience, from the tangible body to the intangible spirits that linger in the shadows of our subconscious minds."
Dushime, een veelzijdige Belgisch-Rwandese artieste en actrice, omarmt een multidisciplinaire aanpak die muziek, storytelling en performance omvat. Met haar authentieke en krachtige stijl ziet ze optredens en muziek als een genezingsproces, waarbij ze haar stem gebruikt als een veelzijdig instrument om verschillende texturen te creëren. Haar poëtische teksten bewegen zich tussen uiteenlopende muzikale invloeden, steeds geworteld in oprechtheid en spirituele resonantie. Delicaat maar krachtig, theatraal maar diep intiem, nodigt Dushime ons uit in een wereld die voortdurend in beweging is. Een wereld die heelt, ondersteunt en zich blijft ontvouwen.
Andie Dushime (º1995, Kigali) is een Belgisch/Rwandese actrice. Met ‘Lam Gods’ van Milo Rau kende ze haar acteerdebuut. Vervolgens speelde ze mee in "Black: the sorrows of belgium" van Luk Perceval. Dit voorjaar stond ze aan de zijde van Bruno Vanden Broucke in de voorstelling Powerplay in een regie van Valentijn Dhaenens.
Dushime studeerde Kunstwetenschappen aan de Universiteit Gent maar zette haar studies ‘on hold’ om zich verder toe te wijden aan de theaterwereld. Verder verklaart ze haar liefde aan rauwe soul en jazz.
